"Today is the sign of better days to come"
After our senior football team's 0-1 loss against Paris Saint-Germain, coach Fatih Terim shared his post-game comments.
"We lost today but we probably win the upcoming days. Before the game I gave some little messages. Today, I want to congratulate my team, except for the result we got. I wish we didn't lose but the game we played, the effort, the challenge we took up made me happy. I see our fans are also really happy. Like I said, we lost today but we win the days ahead.
It's time for us to use our home-court advantage. It's not easy to play against teams like Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid but the confidence we gained playing against them is going to help us in the league. When we put the ball down and start moving off the ball, we played effectively. We could have scored. But also we could have conceded more goals. We have to be fair in our assesment but today's effort, level of game and high tempo we reached is important. We changed some stuff before the game to adapt against PSG. I saw they were right calls. Since they use their wing-backs in full-length of the pitch, we had to do this. We played three-man defense right way, we played whole as a team. We played against a great team, it's not easy. It's not easy to be in this challenge, to want and to do what it takes is not easy. I think today's game is the sign of better days to come."
